Joy of joys! I made
the top 5 on the ‘What’s Hot’ page! Hey,
this is a big deal to me. I always enjoy
seeing proof that I am blessed.
Right from the start, I felt a warm embrace from those of
you here at Townhall. I must also
(gladly) confess, that it’s addicting.
I’m hooked on Townhall but even more so on you guys.
And yes, Sunny, more unsolicited praise. (sorry, no links this time ;o)
How does one define treasure? Some call it money and others would say
possessions. I have three. My Savior, my family, and my friends. I have said so many times, and I’ll say it
many more; I count myself blessed for knowing you. And I find that every day, I treasure you
more.
Now, allow me to define friend. It’s easy.
Someone who loves you. And this
is where I want to take this post:
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his
life for his friends.
I’ve read (and heard) far too many times that the problem
with the religious right is that they don’t understand that politics and
religion don’t mix. I guess it would
depend on your definition of religion, no?
If by religion you mean how many times a week you go to a
certain place, or how many people you’ve attacked because they don’t go to the
place that you go to, then yes, they don’t mix.
I won’t mix with you either. But
if by religion you mean the standard of principle by which you govern every
aspect of your thoughts, words, and actions, then, I must disagree.
You see, my faith IS my politics. Abortion is murder. Life is holy, don’t mess with it. Same sex marriage? Has God turned you over to a reprobate
mind?
And war.
There are those who say that they back our troops but not
this war. I have a question for
you. And just who do you think is
fighting this war? That’s like
saying; I like the smell but hate the
aroma. (I borrowed that saying from one
of you at Townhall. Sorry, I don’t
remember who or I’d link it.)
Let’s get some facts straight. Jesus died for me. He willfully laid down his life in ransom for
my soul. There is no greater love
than this. Now here is a fact that some
have either not heard, or have forgotten:
America’s military is made up of volunteers. So what does that mean?
It means that our troops are willfully laying down their
lives for their friends.
As I said before, I have no choice in my politics. And I am unable to separate Church from
State. I love both. There is no conflict within me. When I close my eyes there is no darkness
there.
Jesus told me to love my neighbor and to pray for and obey
my leaders. Well, I am an American and I
love my country just like the bible teaches me.
And I love my President.
And I love all of those, past and present, who have served
our country in the most honorable, loving, and highest way there is. You have laid (and are laying) down your
lives for your friends.
Greater love hath no man this, that a man lay down his life
for his friends and countrymen.
I salute you. And I
will support you, this war and our President.
To the end.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, mind and soul. Godspeed.
